Green Mountain Energy Receives Authority to Serve Residential Customers in New State
The Illinois Commerce Commission granted Green Mountain Energy Company an expanded alternative retail electric supplier license to serve all customer classes, including residential customers, at Commonwealth Edison. The application to serve residential customers had been first reported in Matters. Previously, Green Mountain Energy had been authorized to serve non-residential customers with annual usage exceeding 15,000 kWh at ComEd.
Start-up Retail Supplier Focused on Municipal Aggregation, Led By ResCom Owner, Receives License in New State
The Illinois Commerce Commission granted American Illuminating Company, LLC an alternative retail electric supplier license to serve all customer classes, including residential customers, at Commonwealth Edison. As only reported by Matters, American Illuminating Company, LLC is a start-up led by David Cohen, the owner of ResCom Holding Company, Inc., whose wholly-owned subsidiary ResCom Energy, LLC is a licensed electric supplier in Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. American Illuminating Company has said that it will focus on servicing the needs of municipal aggregators in Illinois and Ohio
Iron Energy Receives License in New State
The Illinois Commerce Commission granted Iron Energy LLC an alternative retail electric supplier license to serve all customer classes, including residential customers, at Commonwealth Edison. As only reported by Matters, Iron Energy LLC, which launched last year, was founded and is led by David Luppino, Chad Gallun, and Michael Elhaj, who previously founded and led Texas retail provider Chain Lakes Power (Simple Power)
Quest Energy Solutions Receives License in New State
The Illinois Commerce Commission granted Kevin J. Cobb & Associates, Inc. d/b/a Quest Energy Solutions an electric agent, broker, and consultant license.
