New City Joins Texas Coalition for Affordable Power

The Texas Coalition for Affordable Power (TCAP), an electric purchasing consortium, announced that the City of Keller has joined the organization. Keller, located approximately 15 miles northeast of downtown Fort Worth and 25 miles northwest of downtown Dallas, is home to just over 40,000 residents.


Pacific Gas and Electric Reports Providers Awarded Demand Response Aggregation Contracts

Pacific Gas and Electric has awarded agreements for aggregated demand response products to Comverge, Inc., Constellation NewEnergy, Inc., Energy Connect, Inc., Energy Curtailment Specialists, Inc., and EnerNoc, Inc., and has sought PUC approval of the agreements. The agreements, if approved, would provide a range of products that deliver 248.5 MW in 2013 and 267 MW in 2014 from qualifying electric customers in PG&E's service area who are under contract with the demand response providers.


5 Enters Maryland Market By Advising Two Local Landmarks

Broker-consultant 5 announced that it has launched service in the Maryland market, and is advising local landmarks the Hippodrome Theatre and the Tennis Center at College Park. 5's Maryland entry was first reported in Matters. 5, which is a trade name for L5E, LLC, is currently active in Texas, New York, and Maryland, and as previously reported is seeking a District of Columbia broker license.


Green Mountain Energy Renews Supply Agreement with Discovery Green

Green Mountain Energy Company announced that Discovery Green, Houston's 12-acre park, has renewed a 100% wind electric supply agreement with Green Mountain. Green Mountain will also be the presenting sponsor for Discovery Green's Thursday Concert series. Infinity Power Partners, a Houston based energy management and consulting firm, assisted Discovery Green in structuring, facilitating, and executing the sponsorship and commercial electricity contracts with Green Mountain.

Direct Energy is being honored as the UFPC YUM!Brands 2011 Energy Supplier of the Year. YUM!Brands is the world’s largest retail developer with 18,050 restaurants in the US – including KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut - and 37,000 restaurants worldwide in 117 countries.
