Position Summary: Green Mountain Energy is seeking an individual to drive its energy/sustainability program development and management efforts in the commercial, industrial and institutional sectors nationally. This individual, as part of a team, will be responsible for assessing potential customers’ overall energy needs, assist in developing winning proposals, negotiating and securing contracts for a suite of energy and sustainability related products and services ranging from distributed generation installations to carbon management to energy efficiency and management solutions. The Director of Program Management will manage the entire project implementation process and will be included in qualifying prospects with the sales teams from the solutions identification phase to contract negotiation.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain 3^rd party schedules, project timelines, and manage vendors, processes, and materials to complete projects within timelines and budgets
• Conduct assessments of prospects’ energy consumption, costs and the potential value of solutions
• Provide high level guidance on best practices associated with a diverse set of energy and sustainability solutions, to include initial scoping, costing, and preliminary design
• Develop effective energy project prospecting tools to support sales and revenue growth objectives (job costing, feasibility and ROI models)
• Provide initial partner and technology recommendations and ongoing vendor management associated with the completion of a portfolio of energy solutions
• Work with Legal and Sales to negotiate subcontractor and vendor contracts
• Assist sales in qualifying prospects in industrial, commercial and institutional sectors, based on qualification criteria
• Assist sales in delivering targeted and differentiable presentations and proposals based on client’s needs

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 10 years experience in Solar and/ or Energy Services (ESCO) industries managing multi-dimensional projects preferred
• Ability to thrive in a start-up environment, with limited direction and broad responsibilities
• Demonstrated success developing distributed generation and/or energy efficiency projects
• Knowledge of energy rate structures and incentives
• Technical understanding of solar and energy distribution systems
• Portfolio of primary responsibility for generating six-figure-plus transactions with commercial, industrial and institutional customers
• Experience in vendor management and project P&L
• Expertise and understanding of financial modeling and proposal development tools, especially with regard to power project development
• Ability to travel 50%
• 4-year college degree with a technical major or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite (Excel in particular)
• Advanced organizational, presentation, analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal skills
